Blogging with Training Wheels

I'm a 26 y/o single mother and my BFF convinced me to start a blog which we titled "The Upside of Mom", about my life as a single parent raising a 16 month old daughter alone, and the struggles, challenges, and triumphs my daughter and I face together.

Problem is, I'm one of those people who has trouble committing to things - relationships, projects, ideas, its almost always half-done. I find myself with little free time to write daily, and I found I struggled with new and interesting ideas to post about relative to the overall general topic of the blog. I never did a blog before, was oblivious to what it entailed, and for now, The Upside of Mom is password protected and on hiatus until I figure out what the hell I am doing.

My other BFF, Lauren, who lives on the other side of the country, is my confidante and my sounding board, and she has been encouraging me to get back on the horse, except maybe this time I should also write about my passion for cooking, the law, and of course, finding true love-all of this while raising a toddler, and relentlessly searching for a new, better job.

The upside of it all is that I've found a man who likes me just as I am-complicated, intense, deep thinking and funny, despite my flaws. I have a feeling this could lead 2 something magical

So goodbye mediocre ramblings disguised as a blog, hello world welcome to my life.

Late Bloomer

Hello! I'm new to blogging. I like the concept and am trying to learn more about it.
I found this Free Blogger Course on-line and signed up for it. I'm excited to learn about this medium for writing. I look forward to learning as many ins and outs to it that I can.
I enjoy writing but have only done so for myself, to work though situations, decisions to be made, and letter writing for my employers.
I'm very appreciative of the generosity of the people who offer this free course to teach and help others like me learn more about our on-line voices.

A favourite hobby

Playing in the kitchen is my favourite hobby.

I've been interested in cooking since I was a kid, but in the past 5 years or so, food has become almost an obsession.

I love the satisfaction of providing a tasty, nourishing meal for my family & friends. Bonus points if it looks pretty.

This site is one of my sources of inspiration.

Introduction - Blogging Course

Well I have started another blog on this website for fun and also because I would like my students to use this format for journaling. Before I assign it to students I want to know as much as possible! My current blog is a posting of cards and cakes that I have started making. I envision myself starting a part-time business focusing on these skills! So far I have one follower. I would like to learn how to make a 3-column blog, how to move things around in the blog (beyond the basics in blogger editing), and how to get others to look at the page.

My favorite hobby is hiking.

I have enjoyed hiking for the past several years.

I love hiking because I love being outdoors and the peace and quiet.

New At Blogging

For several years I've been hearing that blogging is the way to go when it comes to meeting, greeting and promoting anything. So after many people pushing me and wanting me to do this I am getting started. Now I must learn how to do this and what is the best way to do this. I have spent several hours on line looking for direction and welcome suggestions and recommendations from all of those who have gone before me on this journey. What would be the number 1 and 2 suggestions you have for someone just beginning? I am sure that this will be an adventure that will take me to places I never dreamed of before!
